Over a career spanning more than two decades, attorney Candice Fields has gained experience in both criminal defense and civil litigation. Other experience includes practicing at a large law firm and a prominent Sacramento white-collar criminal defense firm.

Since founding her solo practice, she concentrates her efforts on federal and state criminal defense and business litigation for a diverse clientele. Some of her representative cases include:

  • Successfully representing a large agricultural business and individuals in major federal tax fraud case.
  • Advocating for health care providers in federal and state fraud investigations, helping her clients avoid prosecution in one of the largest and well-publicized health care fraud investigations in FBI history.
  • Defending the president/CEO of a regional real estate developer in federal and state fraud investigations and complex business litigation. This case was concluded when the government declined to prosecute.
  • Representing a real estate professional in high-profile federal and state mortgage fraud investigations (prosecution declined) and multiparty business litigation.
  • Representing a contractor in a federal grand jury investigation led by the Antitrust Division of the Department of Justice regarding allegations of price fixing.
  • Representing a company contracted to the U.S. government in a federal grand jury investigation led by the U.S. attorney's office regarding allegations of fraud.
  • Obtaining summary judgment in favor of her clients, trustees and faculty of a California State University, who faced allegations, including negligence and fraud.

Professional Background And Affiliations

Candice Fields earned her law degree in 1994 from the University of the Pacific, McGeorge School of Law, where she competed on the Roger J. Traynor California Appellate Moot Court Competition. She received her bachelor's degree in rhetoric and communication from UC Davis in 1986.

Dedicated to building relationships within the legal profession, she plays an active role in the Sacramento community. She has served as a court-appointed lawyer representative to the 9th Circuit Judicial Conference, as a member of the Eastern District of California Judicial Advisory Committee and as co-chair of the Eastern District Conference Planning Committee. She is also a member, designated as Attorney Master of the Bench, of the Anthony M. Kennedy American Inn of Court. She also currently volunteers on the Eastern District of California Civil Rights Pro Bono Panel.
